The UEA internship program has been managed by the HDC for many years now and we would like to highlight a few of our interns that have made the next step into the business world.

Josh Eddings joined the high school intern program during his senior year at HAST. After graduation he moved on to the college program, working as a front desk receptionist with the HDC before transferring to Belsom Electric. Belsom was so happy with Josh, they decided this Fall to hire him on as an electrical intern. Josh is a great example of how the program can benefit not only the student, but also city businesses!

Ian Clark interned with the HUB this summer as he finished up his Accounting degree at PurdueNorthwest. We are happy to say that Ian was recently hired at the Accounting Firm of Cllifton Larson and Allen. Congratulations to Ian!

Kevin Culver started out at the HUB as an intern while working on his accounting degree at Ivy Tech. Kevin became the UEA administrator and supervisor of the internship program. We are thrilled to announce that as of January 1, 2018 Kevin has been hired on as the new bookkeeper for the HDC.

If you are a Hammond business and are interested in having a summer intern work with you or if you know a high school or college student interested in being a summer intern, please contact Jen Bussey at 219-853-6399 x104.
